Setting a new boundary
Multiple boundaries may be created in a single field if necessary. These may be created by driving around the boundary (as described below), from a coverage or from a shapefile.
The interior of a created boundary is transformed into a work region by default. Areas demarcated by boundaries within this region are transformed by default into excluded regions (shown in grey on map). These properties may be modified. Fare riferimento a .
When the boundary is set, this defines the perimeter of the field (or of a section of a field). Boundaries may overlap.
The boundary recording offset may be configured to control where the boundary is recorded relative to the vehicle, and to allow for fences and other obstacles where the vehicle cannot drive exactly along the boundary.
After entering the offset, the vehicle must be driven around the field boundary.
- Drive the vehicle around the field boundary.
- Select: / Field Menu / Boundary offset .
- Recording offset: Places the offset on the left or right of the implement.
- Additional offset: Enter a positive value to extend the offset beyond the outline of the implement. A negative value positions the recording position within the outline of the implement.
- Recording position: Select this function to record the boundary at the front or rear of the implement, or from the vehicle position.
Note: While it is necessary to specify an implement during configuration, this implement does not have to be physically attached to the vehicle.
- Select: Record field boundary .
- Drive the vehicle around the boundary of the field. A blue line will display the boundary being recorded, taking into account any offset.
- Select Pause to temporarily suspend recording. This is useful if an obstacle prevents driving on the boundary. The icon changes to indicate the recording option. Select Record to resume recording. The boundary will be recorded as a straight line between the point recording was paused and the point recording was resumed. Boundary recording may be set to pause automatically when the master switch is turned off.
- As the vehicle approaches the start point, select Complete field boundary recording to complete the boundary automatically.
- Repeat the procedure for additional boundaries if necessary.
Creating a boundary from a coverage record
A boundary may be created from an existing coverage record.
- Select: Field Menu / Create boundary from coverage .
A boundary (or multiple boundaries) is plotted around the outer boundary of the existing coverage. New boundaries are added to the current field.
Creating a boundary from a shapefile
A boundary may be imported from a shapefile stored on a USB device.
- Copy the shapefile onto a USB device.
- Ensure the USB is connected correctly to the port on the console.
- Select: / Field Menu / Create boundary from shapefile .
- Select the USB icon at bottom of the screen . Data objects are shown in blue.
- Select the USB flash drive icon in the main screen to view the root directly of the USB file structure. The files and folders in the root directly of the USB flash drive are displayed.
- Select a folder to open it. Find the required file and select it. The file is displayed in white. The Next button is now enabled.
- Confirm to import the shapefile boundary.
Editing a boundary
A boundary may be edited once it has been created.
- Press and hold the button to select the boundary on the touch screen. The boundary is highlighted. Release the button to display the Edit Boundary menu.
- Name: optional user-defined name to define a boundary.
Region type:
- Work region: Work regions are used to indicate areas in which product is applied when using section control.
- Excluded region: Excluded regions are used to indicate areas in which product is not applied when using section control.
- Disabled: The boundary is ignored.
- Categorised region: It may be helpful to assign a category to each boundary in situations with a large number of boundaries (e.g. to include certain areas when spraying but exclude them when sowing). Categories may be used to define work regions and excluded regions for the current job.
- Category: used to assign or create region categories. Displayed only if Categorised Region is selected as the Region Type. (The waste basket icon next this field may be used to delete unused categories).
The waste basket icon at the bottom of the screen may be used to delete the selected boundary.
Removing a boundary
If a boundary must be changed, it can be erased and a new boundary can be set. Single boundaries may be deleted with the waste basket icon in the Edit Boundary menu.
To delete all boundaries in a field:
- Drive into the field.
- Select: Field Menu / Select field to choose the client name, farm and field. The boundary is displayed on the screen.
- Select Delete boundary to remove the boundary. A message requesting confirmation is displayed.
Note: The boundary will be deleted permanently.
